Man Charged With Illegal Fuel Haul

A traffic stop by deputies on Interestate 75 Tuesday led to the arrest of a Hialeah man on charges he was illegally hauling several hundred gallons of fuel.

Andy Arael Rodriguez Rodriguez, 28, was charged with unlawful conveyance of fuel and obtaining fuel by fraud, both felonies.

Arrest reports say Rodriguez Rodriguez was driving a 2005 Ford pickup near mile marker 97 on I-75 around 6:30 when deputies stopped him for illegal window tint. Rodriguez Rodriguez gave deputies permission to search his pickup, reports said.

During their search deputies found a large homemade fuel tank in the bed of the pickup. The tank contained several hundred gallons of diesel fuel and was not state approved for transporting fuel on a public highway, reports said.

The search also turned up three business credit cards hidden in the sunroof cover of the pickup. The cards did not contain names or number impressions on the face nor any contact number for the business
