Rock-Throwing Attack Leads To Felony Charge

A 21-year-old woman is facing felony charges after deputies say she threw a baseball-size rock at a man as he tried to get away from a group of people who attacked him in Golden Gate Estates on Tuesday.

Amanda Margaret Taylor, 824 11th St. S.W., Golden Gate, was arrested and charged with shooting a missile into a vehicle.

Arrest reports say Randy Stoddart told deputies he went to the intersection of 10th Street Southeast and Frangipani Avenue to confront another man who he said tried to hit his girlfriend.

Stoddart arrived to find the man and several other people, including Taylor, waiting for him.
Stoddart got out of his car and confronted the man. Stoddart then started to walk back to his car when a truck pulled in behind him, pinning him in, reports said.

Stoddart climbed through his window into his car while being struck by the group, who had surrounded his car. Taylor picked up a rock the size of a baseball and threw it at him, striking the driver’s side door.

Stoddart drove off and reported the attack to a deputy who was making a traffic stop at Golden Gate and Everglades boulevards.
