North Naples Man Charged With Credit Card Fraud

A former employee of a Collier County funeral home faces a felony charge after deputies say he used the business’ ExxonMobil credit card for more than $6,800 worth of personal purchases.

Todd Garfield, 23, 4970 Deerfield Way, North Naples, turned himself in to the Collier County jail Friday after deputies received a warrant for his arrest. He was charged with scheme to defraud under $20,000.

Reports say the staff at Fuller Funeral Home discovered the fraudulent purchases shortly after Garfield resigned Sept. 12.

Garfield bought food, gasoline and $50 gift cards in transactions dating back a year, according to reports. The purchases totaled $6,868.

Deputies say Garfield can be seen on surveillance video making two of the most recent purchases. Managers at both stores also identified Garfield as the person who presented the credit card to them.
