The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the deaths of two East Naples children Saturday.
The Collier County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted autopsies Sunday on the bodies of 4-year-old Lillina Herrera and her brother, 5-year-old Ethan Herrera. Results of those autopsies are pending.
Deputies were called to the family’s 7811 Regal Heron Circle home in the Blue Heron condominium complex at 11:45 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses said the children’s mother, Susan Herrera, 39, had discovered them unresponsive in a storage trunk.
Emergency personnel conducted CPR and the children were transported to Physician’s Regional Medical Center on Collier Boulevard, where they were pronounced dead.
