2 Charged With Stealing Rx Drugs

A man and a woman were arrested on felony charges late Sunday after deputies say they broke into a friend’s Golden Gate apartment in late January and stole prescription drugs.

Heather Louisa Jackomino, 26, and Steven Michael Smith, 30, both of 5242 Jennings St., East Naples, were each charged with burglary and grand theft.

Arrest reports say the victim told deputies that around 3 p.m. on Jan. 28 she received a phone call on her way home from work telling her that Smith was selling 25 10 mg methadone pills. The victim had just filled a prescription for the same type and number of pills, reports said.

The victim’s pills were missing from her apartment in Golden Gate when she returned home, reports said. A neighbor told the victim that she saw a man who matched Smith’s description leaving out the back of the victim’s apartment.

The victim also told deputies that Jackomino sent her text messages that day inquiring about her whereabouts when Jackomino should have known the victim was at work, reports said.

The victim told deputies that Jackomino later called her and confessed to going into her apartment with Smith and stealing her pills, reports said.
