UPDATE: Deputies Investigate North Naples Bank Robbery


UPDATE:

Investigators have provided two surveillance photos of the suspect in the bank robbery that took place earlier today.

Location: PNC Bank, 15465 U.S. 41 N., North Naples

Time: 11:34 a.m.
SUMMARY:

Deputies are searching for a man armed with a gun in connection with a robbery at a North Naples bank.

The robber demanded everyone inside to get on the ground then showed the teller a handgun. He ordered the teller to go inside the vault then he took additional money from the register.

The robber asked the teller for her keys then ran out the back of the bank and fled in her vehicle. Her car was later located behind Naples Tomato.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Investigators say they are looking for a white male with grayish hair and stubble on his chin. He was wearing sunglasses, a dark brown hat, black leather gloves and a blue long-sleeved shirt with a black over-shirt. Deputies believe he is between 45-55 years-old.
On Monday, December 8, 2008 the same North Naples bank was robbed. Investigators believe the same man is involved due to the similarity in physical description and nature of the robbery. Investigators also believe he committed two other bank robberies in Lee County in the past 12 months.

Deputies are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man investigators are believed in both armed robberies. The surveillance photo was taken during the robbery in December – the man in the photo is wanted for questioning.
