A North Naples department store employee was arrested on felony charges Wednesday after deputies say he stole clothing from the store and then sold them.
Frenel Franklin, 24, 902 San Remo Ave., East Naples, was charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property .
Franklin, a salesman at TJ Maxx, 5018 Airport-Pulling Road, was arrested after a loss prevention officer caught him placing store merchandise in empty TJ Maxx boxes and then removing the items from the store without paying for them, arrest reports said. The merchandise was valued at $259.
Further investigation by deputies revealed Franklin had been stealing clothing from the store for two months and then selling the items for cash, reports said.
An internal investigation by the store found Franklin stole approximately $12,000 worth of merchandise from the store, reports said.
