Deputies ZOOM to Arrest

Two anonymous phone calls to CCSO’s ZOOM hotline has led to the arrest of a Golden Gate woman who deputies say was driving recklessly while on a revoked license near a North Naples elementary school.

On Thursday, the hotline received a call about a woman who consistently drove on a suspended license around Vineyards Elementary School around 8 a.m. The reporter was able to provide additional details including the color and make of the driver’s vehicle, license plate number and home address.

ZOOM received a similar call Friday alerting deputies to a reckless driver in the student drop-off lane. The vehicle and license plate number matched the description provided by the first caller.

These reports were immediately forwarded to the Safety Traffic and Enforcement Bureau and deputies were able to locate the driver on Vineyards Boulevard.

Further investigation by deputies found Tiffany Billings, 27, 5095 17th Ave. S.W., had a suspended license and was listed a habitual traffic offender in 2007.

Billings was arrested and charged with driving under a suspended license three or more times and driving under a suspended license as a habitual offender.

The ZOOM hotline debuted in August 2007 as an outlet for citizens to report any dangerous situation they observe on county roadways. This can simply be done by calling 530-ZOOM (530-9666) and leaving a detailed message including (as many of these as possible): the time, location, reason why they are calling, vehicle and driver description and license plate tag.
