Deputies are alerting the community that a man who escaped from the DeSoto County jail on Sunday has acquaintances in Collier County and could be in the area.Jorge Emilio Delgado, 43, is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 172 pounds and has brown eyes and curly black hair. He was last seen wearing a black and white striped prison uniform.
According to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, Delgado escaped about 8 p.m. and was last seen on foot heading east from the jail, which is located in Arcadia.
Delgado is a registered sex offender who served six years in state prison for sexual battery, false imprisonment and lewd and lascivious battery on a child under 16. He was being held at the DeSoto County jail on a battery charge.
