An East Naples man was arrested on a warrant in Fort Lauderdale today after a CCSO investigation revealed that he was responsible for his infant son’s death earlier this year in Collier County.
Samuel Sejour, 20, 11430 Whistlers Cove Circle Apt. No. 217, was charged with second degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
Sejour reported that the baby was sick and not breathing on Jan. 23, 2009.
Elijah Kye Eliazar, 3 months old, of the same address, was transported to Lee Memorial Health Park in Fort Myers but was taken off life support a week later.
Medical Examiner reports later determined that Eliazar died of brain injuries stemming from a non-accidental skull fracture and related bleeding.
A warrant for Sejour’s arrest was issued on Friday, June 26, and investigators learned that Sejour left Naples and was possibly staying with family in Broward County.
With the assistance of CCSO’s Fugitive Warrants Bureau and the U.S. Marshal’s Office, Sejour was located in Ft. Lauderdale today.
He was booked into the Broward County Jail and is awaiting transport to Collier County.
