Members of the community are invited to join the Collier County Sheriff’s Office as we make the holidays merry and bright for some deserving children and animals.
This year’s CCSO “Celebrate With A Star” program will benefit children who participate in Grace Place and animals in the care of Collier County Domestic Animal Services.
Grace Place is a nonprofit community center in Golden Gate that teaches literacy, language and life skills to hundreds impoverished children and families. The center offers children in need with an array of programs including youth development, after-school care and summer day camps.
Collier County Domestic Animal Services is charged with the care of thousands of homeless dogs, cats and other domestic animals each year. Donated items help it carry out its mission.
Participating in “Celebrate With A Star” is easy. If you’d like to provide a gift for a Grace Place child, just send an e-mail to ccsopio@colliersheriff.net and we will reply with a child’s name, age and his or her holiday wish. If you’d like to give a gift to DAS, click here to see a list of the items the agency needs.
Or, if you prefer, you may stop by and select an ornament from the tree in the Human Resources lobby of the Sheriff’s Office headquarters, 3301 U.S. 41 East, Building J, in the Collier County Government Center. Each ornament has either the name of a Grace Place child and his or her holiday gift wish, or an item needed by DAS.
Gifts may be dropped off at any CCSO substation or in the Human Resources lobby of Building J at CCSO headquarters. DAS gifts do not need to be wrapped. Grace Place gifts should be wrapped.
“Celebrate With A Star” gifts must be dropped off by Thursday, Dec. 10. If you have questions, call CCSO’s Public Affairs Bureau at 793-9145.
