Suspicious Incident In Golden Gate

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report by a woman who said a motorist fondled himself in front of her and her two young children while they were at a public bus stop in Golden Gate on Monday morning.

Detectives have released this composite of the suspect.

Detectives said the man is described as Cuban, 30 to 40 years old with dark skin, a medium to heavy build and short black or brown spiky-style hair. He was wearing a gray sleeveless shirt with a black collar and blue jean pants or shorts.

The 28-year-old mother told detectives that she and her children, ages 2 and 4, were standing at the Collier Area Transit bus stop outside their residence in the 1800 block of Sunshine Boulevard around 11 a.m. when they were approached by a man in a white Ford passenger van, detectives said.

The man stopped the van and began to speak to the woman, telling her he would show her “a good time.” The man appeared to be fondling himself, detectives said.

The woman shielded her children’s faces and the man drove away. The man made a U-turn and stopped the van in front of the family. He opened the driver-side door. His pants were down and he was fondling his genitals detectives said.
