Yearlong CCSO Investigation Nets 8 Drug Arrests In Immokalee

A Collier County Sheriff’s Office investigation into illegal drug activity in Immokalee that began a year ago culminated with the arrests of eight people Wednesday night on charges that they sold cocaine and marijuana to undercover deputies.

Deputies from CCSO’s Immokalee Vice and Narcotics Bureau, Fugitive Warrants Bureau, Immokalee substation, Immokalee Jail Center, and Vice and Narcotics K-9 units teamed up for the special operation.

The investigation was in response to citizen complaints about illegal drug activity in the Immokalee area. The operation targeted people who were dealing in street-level amounts of narcotics.

“Despite being one of the safest counties in Florida, Collier County continues to see individuals who want to traffic narcotics in our community,” said Sheriff Kevin J. Rambosk. “The Collier County Sheriff’s Office will conduct undercover operations and exercise other investigative techniques to make it increasingly difficult for these individuals to operate.”

This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected, Sheriff Rambosk said.
