Deputies To Conduct DUI Checkpoint

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint over the weekend targeting drivers who choose to drive after consuming alcohol or drugs.

This checkpoint is the beginning of a series of static sobriety checkpoints and roving operations planned as a part of the current CCSO Community Safety Plan and a one-year Florida Department of Transportation grant of $93,656.

This grant is to pay for the purchase of two unconventional, unmarked DUI enforcement vehicles and the equipment to outfit them.

CCSO’s Safety and Traffic Enforcement Bureau reminds drivers to plan for a safe ride home before heading out for the evening or to call a friend or take a taxi.
