WHAT: Fraud Prevention Workshop

SYNOPSIS: This workshop is designed for business retailers and merchants to raise awareness about fraud scams and schemes commonly reported in Collier County.
The workshop will be hosted by the Collier County Sheriff's Office and the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce.
Sheriff Kevin J. Rambosk will give the opening remarks. Featured speakers will include representatives of the Chamber, CCSO, Florida Department of Financial Services, U.S. Secret Service, and iSekurity.
Topics of the workshop will include counterfeit currency and checks, employee embezzlement, technology threats, fraud scams specific to businesses, and anti-fraud products.
Sgt. Rebecca Gonzalez of CCSO's Crime Prevention Unit said knowledge about how to be aware of fraud is the first step in preventing it from happening.
"An informed business is a safe business,'' Sgt. Gonzalez said.
Lunch will be provided to participants.
