CCSO Participates In Multi-agency Dive Training Exercise

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office joined local emergency responders in a dive training exercise Thursday.

CCSO was among seven agencies that participated in an underwater search-and-rescue training exercise at Price Lake at Camp Discovery, just south of Florida Sports Park in East Naples. The three-day exercise concluded Thursday and was open to the media.

The purpose of the joint exercise, led by the North Naples Fire Department, was to continue training that began in 1995 between responding agencies in Collier County that would jointly respond to an emergency. Responding to any emergency situation, responders need to know what is available to assist them in saving lives. The exercise allowed a building of department relationships and the sharing of resources.

In addition to CCSO, members of the North Naples Fire Department, Golden Gate Fire Department, Collier County Emergency Medical Services, East Naples Fire Department, Marco Island Fire Department, and Naples Fire Department participated.
