Deputies: Man Used Another’s Identity – Update

*Update: Investigators learned that Likes sold several items to pawn shops using the name Martin Kicks. He has been charged with five counts of defrauding a pawnbroker.

According to reports, a man gave deputies a fake name when he was arrested and charged for resisting an officer, possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and attaching a tag not assigned to his car.

An officer from the Idaho Falls Police Department called CCSO and reported that Michael Likes, 22, of 220 21st Street S.W., gave deputies the fake name of Kicks when he was charged on Nov. 18.

A criminal history revealed that he also uses Likes as an alias when he had been previously arrested in Idaho.

The officer said that the real Michael Kicks currently lives in Idaho and deputies believe that Likes used Kicks’ birth certificate when he applied for a Florida ID.

Likes was charged with possession of a fake ID, giving a false name while applying for an ID card and falsely impersonating someone to a law enforcement officer.
