Attempted Robbery in North Naples

Deputies are investigating a report of an attempted robbery in North Naples on Monday night.

Brandon Linder, 17, of Naples Park, told deputies that he was walking north on Vanderbilt Drive with his girlfriend Lizbeth Milagros around 8:15 p.m., reports said. As they crossed Pine Street they noticed a dark color sport utility vehicle following behind them with its headlights off.

A man with a bandanna over his face got out of the SUV, grabbed Linder by his neck and demanded money. The man pushed the teen to the ground, reports said. The man kneeled on top of Linder and searched the teen's pockets.

The man ran back to the SUV and drove south on Vanderbilt Drive.

The man is described as white, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, 160 pounds and possibly 17-19 years old. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black and white bandanna over his face.

Deputies continue to investigate.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 793-9300.
