Deputies: Teen Was Burglary Look-Out

A 16-year-old Gulf Coast High School student was arrested Wednesday after deputies say he was the look-out during a burglary in North Naples.

Jose M. Degollado, 1500 Old U.S. 41, Apt. 33, North Naples, was charged with unarmed burglary.

Reports say Degollado was in the industrial park near Railhead Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 23 when he was approached by two homeless men.

The men wanted him to be their look-out for a burglary they were going to do in the Mediterra community, reports said.

Degollado stood watch while the men entered a house in the 1500 block of Brolio Lane, reports said.

The men came out of the house with a box and all three returned to the industrial park, where they opened the box, reports said. The box was later recovered and deputies found Degollado’s paycheck stub inside.

He was unable to explain to deputies how his paycheck stub got into the box, reports said.
