Salvador Cortez, 22, who did not list his full address on S. Eighth Street in Immokalee on arrest reports, was charged with armed trespassing.
Reports say Leticia Garcia Martinez, 112 N. 2nd St., Immokalee, told deputies she was taking a shower with her 1-year-old daughter around 7:30 p.m. when she saw Cortez standing in the doorway, staring at her.
When she asked him why he was in her home he told her he was there to relay a message from a friend. Martinez told Cortez to leave her home but he refused, stepping inside the bathroom.
Martinez threatened to call authorities if he didn’t leave and he told her he did not believe her, reports said. She then left the bathroom to call authorities.
Martinez told deputies that Cortez was carrying a knife and that when deputies arrived he tried to hide it on the floor of her living room against a door frame.
Martinez also told deputies that she had worked with Cortez about two months ago, but that she never gave him her address or permission to visit her at her home.
