Deputies: Steroids May Have Caused Man’s Rage

A Golden Gate man was arrested Monday after deputies say he threatened his wife with a knife and then asked her to inject him with steroids.

Shayne Joseph Lewis, 5367 W. Hemingway Lane, Apt. 201, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Reports say Lewis and his wife, Stephanie, were arguing around 8:45 p.m. when he ordered her to leave their apartment. She refused. He got a knife from the kitchen and told her, “Get out now. You have 10 seconds or I’m going to stab you.”

Stephanie Lewis told deputies she tried to calm her husband down and asked him “not to act this way” in front of their children, ages 7, 8 and 2. She told deputies her husband said that “he didn’t care” and that he would “slice their necks too,” according to reports.

Lewis threw the knife at a wall and went into the bedroom and got a bigger knife and again threatened his wife, reports said. Stephanie Lewis said she was able to calm her husband down and they went into the bedroom to talk.

In the bedroom Lewis presented his wife with liquid steroids and asked her to inject him with it, reports said. She refused.

Stephanie Lewis told deputies that her husband, who is 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 320 pounds, has never threatened her before and believes that steroids may have caused his rage, reports said..
