Prescription Fraud Arrest

A 29-year-old Naples man was arrested after deputies say he forged a prescription for OxyContin.

Chris Prescott, 2202 Arbour Walk Circle, was charged with one count of obtaining controlled substances by fraud.

Reports say Prescott obtained a blank prescription slip stolen from the 5671 Naples Blvd. office of Dr. Ronald Howard. On Dec. 14 Prescott presented the slip, now filled out for 60 tablets of OxyContin, to the Golden Gate Pharmacy, 11669 Collier Blvd.

Pharmacy staff later identified Prescott from a photo line-up as the man who dropped off the prescription and later took possession of the pills.

Prescott was arrested Thursday as he got out of a car that was parked in a driveway on Carrington Circle in Naples.
