Deputies arrested a convicted felon Thursday after they say he fired a shotgun from his car in Everglades City.Joseph Carl Galvan, 49, 910 Dupont Road, Everglades City, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and failure to register as a convicted felon.
Reports say Galvan fired one shot from a 12-gauge shotgun out the window of his car on Church street on Feb. 11.
Further investigation by deputies revealed Galvan has prior felony convictions in Florida and Texas on cocaine possession charges.
Deputies also learned Galvan has not applied to have his rights restored in Florida.
He told deputies that he has been living in Everglades City for the past two years.
