A woman was arrested on a felony charge late Sunday after deputies say she left three children, ages 3, 4 and 6, home alone in Golden Gate.Dinora L. Aviles, 23, was charged with child neglect.
Reports say neighbors alerted authorities after the children were banging on the windows around 8:50 p.m. Neighbors told deputies the children had been home alone for about an hour.
Inside the residence was a bag of trash lying on the kitchen floor and deputies had to keep the children from climbing up on the counter tops and jumping off onto the floor. One child had climbed up onto the counter top with a skateboard and was attempting to balance on it.
While deputies were inside the residence, Aviles drove up in her car and entered through a back door.
When deputies asked her where she had been, she told them she had been taking out the trash.
Further investigation revealed Aviles is currently on state probation for leaving the children unattended in a motor vehicle.
