A large amount of smoke billowing inside a pickup parked outside an East Naples restaurant Tuesday night were the deputies’ first clue that something was amiss.The strong odor of marijuana coming from the pickup was their second.
Reports say deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Chicago Loop restaurant, 4943 Rattlesnake Hammock Road, around 10 p.m.
Jayme Spencer was sitting inside a dark blue Dodge pickup with a large amount of smoke inside the cabin. As deputies approached the pickup they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside.
A search of the pickup turned up a marijuana cigar and a plastic bag with marijuana inside, reports said.
Spencer, 22, of Cape Coral, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of narcotic equipment.
Further investigation revealed that Spencer is a documented sex offender, reports said.
