A man who deputies say stole a car in North Miami Beach was arrested Thursday after his girlfriend was stopped driving the car in Golden Gate.
Lenoris Jerome Rolle, 31, of Miami Lakes, was charged with grand theft auto.
Reports say deputies were on the lookout for a 2007 silver Nissan Altima after being notified by the North Miami Beach Police Department that the stolen car might be in the Golden Gate area.
A deputy in a patrol car was stopped at the red light at Sunshine and Green boulevards around 11:20 p.m. when he saw a car matching the description of the stolen Altima traveling west on Green Boulevard.
The deputy stopped the driver, Roshanda D. Arnold, 23, who said the car belonged to Rolle, her boyfriend.
She told the deputy she had just dropped off Rolle at the Waffle House restaurant at 3824 Toll House Drive in East Naples.
Deputies found Rolle walking along Toll House Drive and arrested him.
