A convicted sex offender who failed to register his new address in Collier County following his release from prison earlier this month was arrested Thursday.Jessie E. Estrada, 55, who gave a Naples general delivery address on arrest reports, was charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
Reports say Estrada was released from prison on March 3 and registered an address at 65 Truman Circle, Golden Gate. A deputy went to that address on March 5 and found that the residence was vacant and new tenants were about to move in.
Further attempts to locate Estrada were unsuccessful and he was listed as an absconded sex offender.
On Wednesday, Estrada was arrested on trespassing charges in East Naples.
Further investigation revealed Estrada had moved and failed to register a new address or obtain a Florida ID card which convicted sex offenders are required to do under state law.
