A man was arrested Thursday after deputies say he attacked a sleeping teenager with a knife in Immokalee.Diego Mendez Ruiz, 110 9th St. S., Apt. B6, Immokalee, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
Reports say Mario Sanchez, 17, told deputies that he had been sleeping in his trailer shortly before midnight when he was awakened by Mendez Ruiz, who was standing over him with a knife. Mendez Ruiz told the teen he wanted to fight.
Mendez Ruiz swung the knife at Sanchez, who ducked and ran out of the trailer.
Deputies found Mendez Ruiz inside a back room in the trailer and arrested him.
