Machete Assault Arrest

An argument over a stolen bicycle outside an Immokalee grocery store Sunday ended with the arrest of a man on charges he threatened another man with a machete.

Oscar Colin-Alcantar, 21, 1409 Plum St., Immokalee, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest without violence.

Reports say Francisco Pascual told deputies that he left his bike unlocked outside Miners Tex-Mex, 2307 Lake Trafford Road, around 6 p.m. while he went inside the store to purchase a phone. When he left the store his bike was gone.

Pascual went home, got another bike and returned to the Tex-Mex store. At the same time another man rode up on his bike that had just been stolen.

Pascual confronted the man about the bike. A few seconds later Colin-Alcantar arrived and began yelling at Pascual.

Colin-Alcantar then pulled out a machete from inside his shirt. He beat the machete on the ground, saying, “If you don’t get out of here I will cut you.”

Pascual ran for help.

Deputies located Colin-Alcantar in a trailer next to the Tex-Mex store.
