Deputies Solve Ride Problem For Estates Man

A Golden Gate Estates man in need of a ride early Tuesday eventually found one. Unfortunately, it was in the back seat of a CCSO patrol car.

Reports say Timothy Patrick McDonald, 30, 3540 3rd Ave. S.W., knocked on the door of a Wilson Boulevard residence around 2 a.m. When the resident opened the door McDonald asked to use the phone to call someone for a ride. The resident, who did not know McDonald, called deputies.

Minutes later another Wilson Boulevard resident called the CCSO with a nearly identical complaint. A third call from yet another Wilson Boulevard resident followed it. In each case the resident said McDonald smelled of alcohol and asked to use the phone because he needed a ride.

Reports say deputies found McDonald sitting on the patio of the third complainant. When they ordered him to leave the patio he stood up but did not move toward the door. A deputy then approached him to lead him out by the arm. A scuffle ensued after McDonald pulled away and began resisting the deputy. Another deputy stepped in to help but McDonald continued to resist, flailing his arms and pulling away. Once a third deputy arrived the three officers were able to bring McDonald under control.

He was charged with resisting arrest with violence.
