Joshua Steven Stutzman of Fort Myers was charged with opium trafficking and possession of narcotic equipment.
Arrest reports say deputies stopped Stutzman in the 1500 block of U.S. 41 N. shortly before 8:30 p.m. because the green Chrysler Status he was driving had illegal window tint.
While speaking to Stutzman deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car.
During a search of the Stratus deputies found a cigarette package containing 67 Roxycodone pills, a prescription narcotic pain reliever. The pills weighed 8.52 grams and had an estimated value of $670, reports said. Neither Stutzman nor his passenger had a prescription for the pills, reports said.
The search also turned up a glass marijuana pipe.
Further investigation by deputies revealed Stutzman did not have a valid driver’s license and that there was a warrant for his arrest by another law enforcement agency, reports said.
Stutzman was also charged with driving without a valid license.
