A homeless man was arrested Monday after deputies say he confronted a clerk and a customer at an East Naples convenience store.
Jason Bryant, 33, was charged with vehicle burglary, attempted robbery and battery.
According to arrest reports:
Bryant came into the 7-Eleven at 2135 East U.S. 41 and tried to buy beer. When the clerk Jacqueline Burkett asked him for identification to prove he was old enough to buy alcohol, Bryant presented her with a CCSO arrest photograph. She told him that was not acceptable. He then became disruptive and ran out of the store.
Once outside he opened the passenger door of a van in the parking lot and got in. He told the driver, Juan Arreguin, to drive away and hand over his money. As Arreguin refused, Burkett came out of the store and approached the van, ordering Bryant to get out.
At this point Bryant told Burkett and Arreguin he was going to kill them. Then he got out of the van, pushed Burkett in the chest and ran toward U.S. 41, where arriving deputies apprehended him.
