Ryan Stephen Slade, 1382 Estey Ave., East Naples, was charged with burglary and grand theft.
Arrest reports say John L. Garrison, 23, told deputies he was driving in his car when he noticed Slade walking in the 700 block of 101st Avenue North near Garrison’s residence. Garrison said Slade had lived in the unit next to his residence until about six months ago, reports said.
Garrison said Slade was carrying a large yellow dog food bag that Garrison believed came from his home.
When Garrison returned home he found pieces of dog food on the floor and the sink overflowing with dog food. A laptop computer and about 35 DVDs were also missing from inside the residence, reports said.
Garrison told deputies he confronted Slade, who begged him not to call authorities. Slade then ran away and Garrison chased after him, according to reports.
Deputies located Slade at the intersection of 94th Avenue North and Eighth Street. Deputies also located the yellow dog food bag, which was full of DVDs that were reported stolen by Garrison.
