Gustavo Soto, 2405 Eden Ave., was charged with armed robbery and battery.
Feliciano Salvador, 22, told deputies that he was walking near the intersection of Carson and Curry roads around 11:30 p.m. when he was jumped by Soto and an unidentified man, according to arrest reports.
Soto punched and kicked Salvador, while the other man held a knife to his throat and stole his wallet, reports said.
Deputies located Soto near the intersection about to get on a bicycle. When Soto saw deputies, he dropped the bike and ran, reports said.
Deputies gave chase on foot and apprehended him a few minutes later, reports said.
Deputies were unable to locate the other suspect. An investigation continues.
