Emerson Jaime and Nestor Jaime, both 26 and of 11096 Windsong Circle, Unit 204, North Naples, were each charged with attempted armed robbery with a firearm.
Arrest reports say Yojanni Cabeza, 19, told deputies he pulled his vehicle into the drive-thru ATM at the Wachovia Bank, 2400 9th St. N. in Naples shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday. He was about to roll down his window when Emerson Jaime, who was wearing a bandanna over the lower half of his face, approached him and banged on his window with a gun.
Cabeza said he feared Emerson Jaime was going to shoot him and his two passengers and drove away, reports said.
Emerson Jaime then ran to a white Ford Explorer, got inside and fled, reports said.
Cabeza followed the Explorer and notified authorities.
Deputies located the Explorer at the intersection of Pine Ridge Road and U.S. 41 East. Deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop on the Explorer and engaged in a pursuit when the driver, Nestor Jaime, refused to stop the vehicle, reports said.
Deputies pursued the Explorer to Forest Lakes Boulevard, where they were able to bring the vehicle to a stop using law enforcement techniques.
Both brothers were taken into custody.
Nestor Jaime was also charged with fleeing and eluding law enforcement, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.
