The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a man they suspect is linked to a hotel fraud case.
Detectives have released photographs of the man.
Detectives say the man travels from hotel to hotel, posing as a customer who has decided to extend his stay.
He gains access to rooms after the victims have checked out and calls the front desk, saying he would like to extend his stay. He also requests a room upgrade. He then proceeds to charge expensive bottles of wine, rare bottles of scotch, spa items, and miscellaneous gift items to the previous guests’ rooms.
Detectives say the man was in the Naples area around Sept. 20 through Sept. 26. During that time he is believed to have charged thousands of dollars to several high-end hotels.
Anyone with information about the man pictured is asked to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239.252.9300, or to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward call Crime Stoppers at 1.800.780.8477.
