Deputies are searching for two men armed with guns who forced their way into an East Naples residence late Wednesday night and demanded money, guns and jewelry, according to sheriff’s reports.
Sheriff’s reports gave this account:
Carlos Ramos, 51, told deputies that he and his son Carlos Ramos Jr., 23, were watching television inside their trailer at 11141 Laakso Lane around 11:30 p.m. when two men wearing ski masks and carrying guns forced their way inside.
The robbers pointed their guns at the father and son and ordered them to the floor. The robbers struck the pair with their guns and punched and kicked them, while demanding money, guns and jewelry.
Carlos Ramos Jr. fought back. He struggled with one of the robbers, causing the suspect’s gun to discharge into a wall. The robbers then fled the residence.
After a few minutes Ramos and his son got into their car and headed to a hospital when they were stopped by CCSO deputies in the area of Six L’s Farm Road. They were transported to Physicians Regional Medical Center, where they received treatment for their injuries and released.
Deputies searched the area on the ground using K-9 tracking dogs and by air but were unable to locate the robbers.
An investigation continues.
