Ninth Grow House Bust In Collier

Collier County sheriff’s deputies uncovered more than 50 marijuana plants valued at nearly $170,000 from a suspected grow house in Golden Gate Estates over the weekend.

Cesar Enrique Borras, 37, of Miami was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Reports say investigators from the sheriff’s vice and narcotics bureau were investigating a possible marijuana grow house at 4040 Sixth Ave. S.E. around 1 p.m. Friday. Borras, who was living at the house, gave investigators permission to search the residence.

Investigators located a room in the back of the house that was converted to grow marijuana. A search of the room turned up 56 small marijuana plants and growing equipment such as transformers, light bulbs and cooling units.

The marijuana had a street value of around $168,000. The narcotic growing equipment was valued at around $3,000.

The arrest marks the ninth grow house shut down by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office since January.
